Google Celebrates The  Birth Anniversary of Lachhu Maharaj With a Doodle:

On this day in 1944, the famous Indian classical dancer and choreographer of Kathak was born in Varanasi. Pandit Lachhu Maharaj( Lakshmi Narayan Singh ) happens to be the film choreographer of Bollywood and worked in some of the legendary films like Mughal e Azam and pakeezah. 

He is trained under Pandit Bindadin Maharaj (his uncle). At the very young age, he achieved the attention of a great tabla player Ahmed Jaan Thirakwa. 

Later he moved to Mumbai and emerged in the film industry his dance moves of kathak is loved by everyone. 

He is best known for his solo performances known as the tabla master of his times. Awarded with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Indian National Academy for performing arts.

Lachhu Maharaj passed away in July 2016 in Varanasi at age 72. Now today on his 74th birthday Google has yet made simple yet effective doodle today.
